About Art Therapy

Art therapy offers another way to communicate, explore, and understand our experiences. Through creativity and the therapeutic relationship, clients can express thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to put into words, develop insight, build coping skills, and support emotional well-being. It can be especially helpful when words feel limited, overwhelming, or simply not enough.

Art Therapy Helps

Art therapy can support people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, life transitions, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, and challenges with emotional regulation. Creative expression can help people explore experiences from a different perspective, make sense of difficult emotions, and build new ways of coping.

What to Expect

Art therapy may include drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, imagery, writing, movement, or other creative processes alongside conversation. The approach is tailored to each person, and participation in art-making is always collaborative and supportive.

You do not need any artistic experience or skill. The focus is not on creating “good art,” but on using the creative process to explore, communicate, and develop insight
